Friday Five

Happy Friday!  I forgot how much I love to sleep past 6:15... but I'll get to that in a minute.  It's been a while since I've shared an end-of-the-week list, so here goes:

1. Weekly dinners with Laura resumed last night, and she knocked my socks off with this delicious tomato and goat cheese tart:

How gorgeous is that?  Laura adapted it from this recipe, and was smart to use canned tomatoes since fresh aren't in season yet.  I watched her put it together, and it couldn't have been any easier.  And oh, my friends, was it ever delicious!  Paired with fresh green beans, I could have sworn we were in Paris.  (Channeling spring 2014!)  You better believe we ate the whole darn thing.

2. Today is a vacation day for me since I worked last Saturday.  How am I spending it?  My mom is coming into the city for a little shopping and possibly lunch at this adorable little tea room.

3. Planning to make these epic cinnamon rolls this weekend for my family.  This recipe is known all over the food-blogging community as the best of the best, so I've been dying to try it.  I'll be scaling that recipe waaaaaaaaaay down, and sharing with you next week.  Fingers crossed!

4. I'm looking for a new book to read, and I'm taking recommendations.  Preferably fiction.  Without sounding like I'm using an old pick-up line, have you read any good books lately?  :)

5. Headed home to see my parents for the weekend.  Lots of laundry to do, winter clothes to put away (wishful thinking?), and hockey games to nearly give me a heart attack watch.  The playoffs are just around the corner, and I'm so over March Madness.

Have an awesome weekend, whatever you do!
